The Shahada is a sincere statement of belief. It is not a performance or a cultural badge. It means accepting Allah alone as worthy of worship and accepting Muhammad as the final messenger who taught how to live that worship.
What to understand first
A person should understand the meaning of worship, the oneness of Allah, and the role of the Prophet before saying the Shahada. Perfection is not required; sincerity and willingness to learn matter.
